Meaning I drew this chap shortly after reading the Life of Pi, which I enjoyed tremendously! I loved the ambiguity of the tiger, and the idea that it could represent a hidden aspect of one's personality. This just added to my general love of tigers, which has been with me since childhood. I was born in the Chinese year of the tiger (for some bizarre reason the Chinese horoscope is closely followed in Russia), and since I can remember I've always loved tigers, and had a collection of plush tiger toys. So, this print is an ode to my love for tigers (the first of many, I'm sure).
